First time hatching, WOW!🐣

Well, today is hatching day, my first ever. Have 4 chicks so far and 5 pips out of 18 eggs. What a mixed batch of little birds I will have. Polish, longtails, serama,maybe a silkie, and maybe light Brahma crossed with handsome cockerel. It looks like it could get really crowded in there, it’s a Nurture Right 360.

Grats on your hatch! I always have a mix in my incubator too. I have the same incubator you have and it can get crowded. I picked up a used styrofoam incubator that I use as a brooder after the chicks hatch.

Set up a Brooder for them...I remove my Chicks as they find their feet after hatching. Have a heat lamp too.

I’m afraid to open it to soon and have the humidity plummet. Not sure hoe to proceed safely from this point.

The eggs don't drop humidity that quickly by removing the Chicks.

So I was thinking of removing the 6 or 7 chicks that have hatched so far into the brooder this evening to make room in the bator for others to hatch. My husband doesn’t think we should. Thoughts anyone?

If you have a time where there are chicks hatched but no external pips, that would be when I would snatch them out.

Yes you can move out the Chicks.

Hi all I am doing my first hatch thank you for asking this as it’s what I am wondering at the moment. So even if we are in lock down I’m allowed to remove the chicks that have hatched and put them in the brooder?
