first time hatching

    we just had our first chick hatch , what to do , how soon will they eat and drink. do we need to watch for anything thing in particular how exciting

    I read that you should always let them drink first then feed them so they don't get pasty-butt. They won't need to eat for awhile since they can apparently live off their egg yolk for 3 days. Some people take them outta the incubator when they're dry and fluffy, but other people wait until all chicks are hatched. I personally would wait until its dry and fluffy possibly wait until one other is fluffy too, water them and put food with them a 2 or 3 hours later Btw I'm not an expert im just going off of things I've heard, good luck!
