First Time Hatching

hi i got 9 eggs from my neighbor. she has 2 males and many females. im not sure what breeds.
first how do i know the eggs are fertile?

i have them in a metal box with a towel in the bottom. for heat im using my snakes red heat lamp.
i turn them 4 times a day.

am i doing this right?
any suggestions?

I dont know if a snake lamp will work. Also I would only turn them 3 times a day.
Most of the time 1 rooster can easily keep 10 hens eggs fertile.
