First time incubating! Advice for a newbie?

I would love to incubate some eggs. I have a little giant incubator with an egg turner and a fan kit shipping right now. I am both nervous and excited for the chicks! I am planning on incubating eggs from my own flock. I have hatched with a broody, but never with an incubator. Does anybody have any tips or suggestions that could help my hatch? I have done tons of research and I’m sure I will do more before the 13th(planned set date), but I just want to be sure I didn’t miss anything.

• Store eggs at 10-15°C (around 50 F i think), turn 2 or 3 times daily. Store in an egg carton large end up and tilt one side to "rotate". Keep these for up to 10 days.
• Candle at the 8th and 14th days. Remove bad smelling or non viable eggs.
• Don't use any eggs that are super dirty or too porous.
• Don't wash your eggs.
• Don't use permanent marker on them.
• Don't remove chicks until they are dry and strong.
• Don't help chicks out of shell until the 24 hr mark.
• Keep lockdown and hatching humidity at 60-75%.
• Keep in a room with a stable temperature.

Agreed with above. If your using Fahrenheit 99-100°f i think are ideal. Have two temp an humidity thermometers if possible. Try out the incubator empty for the first day or two to help make sure everything is functioning properly and to help set ideal temp. Eggs will also change the temp once set. And have them sit out on the counter before placing them if your keeping ang in the fridge until your start date also its a 50/50 if eggs will develop, hatch and live after. Good luck.
