Well I am bummed. I'm pretty sure that I've cooked my first set of eggs that I was trying to hatch. When I was getting the temperature set, I had the egg turner out of the bator. When I put the turner in, I wasn't accounting for the eggs being much closer to the element than the thermometer and never gave it a thought that they maybe way too warm. I was keeping that bator right at 100.5 (still air) and feeling really proud til I realized that the eggs were significantly closer. I laid the thermometer on top of the eggs and it was reading 107°.

Sooo, I've cooked them... right??
They had only been in there for probably 18 hours before I realized my error. Should I toss the batch and start over?

A temp of 107° is pretty high, and would kill off embryos. Especially for 18 hours. Only one way to find out is to candle them and see if there is any growth. Wait 3-4 days and check. Or wait till around day 7 if it's still early in the incubation process. You should see something by then. They may still be alive so don't get your hopes up just yet. I've made plenty of mistakes in my days. There's been times that I thought I cooked some eggs and they turned out ok and other times I thought I had my incubation techniques spot on and nothing hatched lol. You just never know!
