First Time Incubating-Day 20

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

I've hatched several hundreds and this does NOT get easier on our anxiety or excitement.

Our incubators are in our bedroom, plus have a camera in one so I can peek on them without getting up, but I still get up! :gig I just gotta see who is doing what in there.

Wishing you a great hatch!

Thank you everyone! Still anxiously waiting. Realized I was a day off and today (03/10) is day 20. Good thing I was a day late in removing the egg turner 😅 thought I saw some movement this morning but as I'm at work it's hard to sit and watch long enough to be sure. I'm a wreck and bouncing between feelings of utter failure and the thought that they all passed, or feelings of high optimism and knowing I'll start seeing pips any moment

Update: the temperature dropped dramatically due to a wind storm that knocked out our power, and they got really cold. Candled them very quickly once they warmed back up and it looks like only two made it. Still no pipping but hanging in there 😢
I'd leave them all in there for an entire extra day before worrying too much. I've heard of worse things happening for up to 24 hours with no power and they still hatched.

Give them time.
Here is an embarrassing little story. I had a hen sitting on 3 eggs. One hatched and I candled the other two at day 3. They were clear.
The next morning I was cleaning the nest and found a blue egg. I knew I didn't give her a blue egg and assumed another hen laid there after she left the nest with her baby. I laid the egg out of the way and didn't remember it until the next day! I took it in and candled and found a live chick. I put it in the incubator and it hatch 7 days later. My hen, Lucy, took the chick even though it was a week younger than the first one. He is the sweetest rooster.
Good luck! I hope your chicks hatch.
