This is my first time incubating eggs. I have a mix of 21 silkies and 16 cochins. I have the temp at 99.5, but my humidity is at 38%. I saw different humidity levels for different days. What is the correct level for the first, second, and third weeks? I know I'm supposed to raise it to about 70-75% humidity during the last couple of days before and during the hatch. If you have any other pointers I would really appreciate them!

I like to dry hatch my eggs. I don't even add water for the first 18 days unless it gets below 20 percent. The last 3 days I keep it high, 70 to 80 percent. I have a great hatch rate. My main concern is temperature. Good luck with your hatch.

I just checked my temp before i turned my eggs for the 2nd time to day and it was up to 102. Will that do anything? I turned it down a hair, then I turned my eggs and put the lid back on. It dropped to 88 or so once I got the lid on.

x2 on dry hatching, but here in middle Tennessee, I target 50-55% for lockdown and it goes up when they start hatching.
Best of luck!

i'm doing a dryish hatch this time with 11 eggs going strong (dryish because i had to add a bit of water for the humidity did drop to 16% for some reason)...university studies show that humidity should be 50-60% the first 18 days and 70-80% during lockdown and to me thats to high but this is only my 2nd hatch and i'm hoping for a very good hatch this time all 11 if they keep developing at this rate
