First time incubating with incubator - need help with humidity issues

Thanks BirdBrain & Fay - I just posted a question about this exact issue after seeing BirdBrain's comment. I have a 6" x10" container at the bottom with a large sea sponge sticking up out of it, plus I have a spongy filter from a humidifier sitting on the bottom. I add water to it, which ends up leaking all over the bottom of the entire aquarium (lots of surface area). All of this, gives me 62% humidity. I will probably lose some humidity after allowing more ventilation (I live in dry AZ), but I do have a humidifier running in my room, which I hope will help some.

So.. I understand that I do need some ventilation. I posted the other question separately to find out just how much -harder to figure out in a homemade incubator when you've never even see a real one up close (to see how much ventilation holes they have).

I have a styrofoam incubator and it has two vent holes the size of a dime, but have read I only need to have one open vent for lock down, but the second one incase the humidity gets to high to open for a short while to lower the humidity, but becareful doing this as it will also drop your temp, and for access in case you need to add water, so just try to put them equally on the lid and where the water you have to add during lockdown wont touch the eggs as you put it in. Hopes this helps a little. To close them off you can simply tape a penny over the holes.
