First Time Incubating

This chick piped at 8:00am. This is it at about 9:15 tonight. Is this normal? They said they didn’t try to help and didn’t open the incubator it I have never done this so I figured I’d ask this group since these aren’t my chicks it’s my friends. It looks like it’s making good progress? But the blood is worrying them I have no idea what to tell them. Any help would be appreciated. They said it is still moving and chirping.

That’s what I was thinking too! All the videos I’ve seen it didn’t hatch that way. I can’t see since I just have the pictures. Is that considered a lot of blood? They said it’s not constantly bleeding but I don’t know what that means. It is still moving a lot they said

From the pictures it looks like a good amount. Hopefully the baby isn't actively bleeding anymore or he could suffer and or die from the blood loss.

I will pass that on. I hope the poor chick is ok! I am trying to get more pictures to see if the blood is worse but no one is responding right now. Thank you for your help!

Okay. If there were other chicks in the incubator I would have suggested moving them so they wouldn't peck at the membrane and cause further damage.

One of the wings is out now. And the blood doesn’t seem to be any worse. Trying to upload the picture but I keep getting an error.
