Hi guys,
I am incubating for the first time using a no brand 48 egg incubator. All eggs developed well through the process as per the candlings and I thought things were on track. I'm now on to the second day of lockdown and I don't have a single pip. How long after lockdown do chicks pip? What if the incubator wasn't warm enough and I've locked the incubator down too early for their development? Is there anything I can do?

Did you candle before lock down? Mark air cells? What did you see? The important thing about lock down is to be sure the air cells have gotten big enough. As long as the air cells are on track, no harm will come from locking down early. It won't hurt the chicks at this stage if the eggs don't get turned. But, if the air cells are too small, you may have problems with too much moisture in the eggs. How do those cells look?
