The answer to that question...no....lol You just have different things to worry about as they grow.

You do have a light at one end of the brooder right?  Temp under the light should be between 90-95 degrees. They will go in and out under the light as they need the heat. If they are too cold they will let you know with their loud chirps. (Of course if there is only one in there he may just yell because he's alone...lol.)

Yeah I have a lamp, and chicky seems comfortable temperature wise, think it's a bit lonely, but she won't be for long! :) my thermometer is sshowing 85 at the edge of the brooder, so I think it's safe to assume it's plenty warm enough directly under the lamp, I popped a warming mat under a towel too, just for an extra warm snuggly area.

I'm assuming chicky is yelling due to loneliness and not cold, cos she isn't huddling under the lamp while she shouts. She is absolutely adorable. She's only just knocked a bit of shell off her back that had been clinging on, I didn't want to remove it cos it looked so cute! Xx

I now have all 3 chicks safely hatched. 2 in the brooder and the newest still fluffing up in the bator.

I had to help the newest hatch, as she had manage to get through the shell fine, the membrane was just a bit too tough for her, luckily I was here watching her like a hawk. I left it as long as I could before helping her out, but she was getting very tired. I just gently ripped the bit of membrane she was struggling with and straight away she freed herself! :D

I'm so happy they're all safely out! The experience has probably knocked a few years off my lifespan with the worry. Wanna thank all you girls so much for giving me reassurance and advice! And my chickies thank you too! Xxx
