Hi There. Our chickens have finally reached the age where we can clip there wings. We want to do this as we want to let them out into the yard. I have blocked off entrances to under the house. Were going to let them out into a small area to start off with. Is there any tips or tricks for doing this for the first time? Thank you so much in advance!

Sounds like you have the right strategy :) I don't really have any additional tips except for, keep an eye on them and feed them in their enclosed run/coop area so they know that they must go back in at night.

Here is my tip: If you have not already done so - Shake some scratch is a can to make noise before you offer some as a treat. They will quickly learn to come running at the sound so you will be able to get them back in easily when you decided they should go in.:D

PS I don't think you need to clip their wings. I never even considered it.

If you have any bushy or brushy areas they will probly like that better than just grass, although they will find worms and grubs in the grass too. They will probly excavate a nice dust bathing area[just where you least want it:lol:]
