First time raising chickens

Hi all. New here. I'm just a few weeks into our new endeavor with chickens, and this site came up every time I researched anything, so I thought I might as well join!

I have 11 chicky babies right now, some are almost a month old and some are about a week younger. 3 Easter eggers, 2 barred Plymouth Rocks, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 New Hampshire Reds, 1 Isa Brown and 1 Favorelles. I think they're all female but I know there's a chance we'll be surprised later. I chose this bunch hoping for easy and friendly chickens since I am new to this!

A little about me: I'm a full time working mom with 4 teenagers. We live in a cooler climate near the mountains, and we recently moved to a new house with land already set up for animals and chickens. My 15 year old especially loves animals and has been a huge help already with this new project.

Congratulations on your new flock and on joining this community of experienced and generous folks who will be happy to help you learn all you want to know about chickens!
And, congrats on having an enthusiastic 15-year-old helper; we should all be that fortunate!

I have or have had most of the breeds you are starting out with, and I think you made some great choices. They will feather out beautifully as they grow and should provide some real variety once they begin to lay eggs.

BTW, I try not to play favorites with my flocks, but my Salmon Faverolles always keep me amused. They have a distinctive running gait with their fluffy, feathered feet, and my two girls are CONSTANTLY talking to, and probably about, me.
