Myself and husband have recently incubated and hatched 10 chicks, they are about a week old and growing well.

We have had chickens before but rescues so our first time with babies. Main aim is the joy of owning chickens and of course delicious eggs! Potentially hatching more if we get a broody gjrl in the future.

Our chicks are a variety or breeds including welsummers, crested rocks, exchequer leghorns and lavender araucanas with some others in there too, still too early to say what sexes we have.

In addition to the chooks we have 2 dogs and a cat, a small holding desperate for more animals and lots of love to give our animal family!

Looking forward to learning from other members and being part of the chickens community!

Welcome Scotchicks22 to the brooder box! Hatching 10 chicks on your first try is impressive. Our very first hatch back in the early 20-teens was 12 eggs went in and only 2 Rhodebar roosters came out. Poor boys we never got them by ladies. Beautiful but ornery. Loads of experienced folks here on BYC. I am sure if you have a question about raising chicks someone(s) will be able to help.
