We butchered our very first batch of Cornish X last weekend. I finally cooked one last night - spatchcocked, rubed with olive oil and seasoning, and oh my gawd! I think I now have a developing obsession with these birds. We're already planning our next batch of chicks to raise.

They do poop more than "regular" chickens, but it wasn't a discouraging amount. We only had 3 deaths, but they were the result of brooder tramplings. We raised them to 8 weeks and they turned out to be just the perfect size for my family of 5, plus one plate left over, so I may keep some to get a little bigger next time.

All in all, I was very surprised at how easy they were to care for and how delicious they turned out!

Thanks for the "review"! We've played around with the idea of getting some but haven't jumped into it yet (we have egg layers). Glad to know you were so impressed you're willing to do it again.

Actually, if you haven't written a review for them, you should. Others considering them would probably like to hear your experience. If you haven't written a review before, it's really simple. Just use this link to get to the Cornish Cross breed and over toward the upper right of the screen you'll see a little pencil with "Write a review" next to it.

Give it a try, personal experiences are really helpful!
