I like using the crock pot, you can poke it to see when it's done pretty easy. Younger bird might go 4 hours, an old layer could take 10 - 12! The older ones I like in the pressure cooker, it's faster. Roasted in the oven is good for a 5 - 6 month old orpington with a little fat on him, crispy skin!
