First time raising pigeons

Thanks for all the advice. I now have a new question, can I give pigeons dove food permanently? I gave it to them once before and they seemed to like it, the reason I ask is because my pigeons don't like to eat the peas in pigeon food and they just leave the peas, I think it's very wast full. So I want to find an alternative where they will eat all the food.

Pigeons are doves or at least closely related. I would think that dove food would be adequate. Comparing labels/ingredients might be a good idea.

Pigeon just caught on ol french term for large eating type/sized doves ("squabs" are taken when feathered but not yet stretching n using wings so at fattest n most tender, n later meaning rock dove species n all breeds of n also any larger species of dove.. slang apparently.

Rock doves require some ingredients that mourning dove etc feeds lack.
