Had 3 healthy poults then the 4th just never hatched fully after pip.
Humidity was 65.
This one needed intervention, it looked like an early pip too.
2 days caring for it being so careful to open it without bleeding out.
Then the rest of the shell I left on the poult so it could strengthen it's legs by kicking.
So... of course it became shrink wrapped in a half shell.

What a huge pain in the behind.

I misted it with warm distilled water and got it off in small steps to keep the hatcher temperature up.

The little poult just laid on it's side for over 28 hours with a bit of umbilical cord/shell.
I would flip it over now and then.

I guess it was completely exhausted and was going to die so I warmed up a tiny bit of more distilled with 2 drops of my cockatiel's multivitamin drops.

You could tell the baby was so thirsty! It managed to drink about 6 drops.

Within 3 hours. It now has been trying to walk, chirping and quite full of pep.

I hope I never have to deal with a shrink wrap preemie again!

Sounds like you did great! I'm glad it's ok. I just want to mention for any other viewers be extremely careful forcing any water. You can put small drips on the side of the bill and let them swallow it. Just don't put it inside the mouth. It's very easy to aspirate the little things.

Thanks MGG,
I removed a needle from a new diabetic syringe and used the syringe to carefully put the water drops on the side of it's beak one at a time.
Yes, going slow is a must, I agree.

Got 5 poults now with 12 or so more turkey eggs still to hatch, plus the parents, not to mention 20 chickens, I really need a farm :)

That's a good idea. Turkeys are so cool. I need a farm too! I need room for all of my birds lol
