Aloha. I have raised baby chicks many times in the past, but I understand silkies are a little different. I know they are prone to b vitamin deficiencies, And I know that they do not do well with medicated chick starter, And that they require more protein if I'm correct. So a standard non-medicated chick feed isn't going to be the best option. Right? I want something 20% protein or higher for my Kickstarter? Anyone have any recommendations as to what food they are using? I'll be getting chicks at the end of the month shortly after they hatched, so I want to make sure I have the correct crumbles ready, and I want to make sure I pick up the correct electrolytes for the water if I do need to add it. Basically, I'm just looking for some advice as it is my first time raising Silkie chicks.
Thanks in advance for any replies. I'm looking forward to learning about this breed!
