1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
yes- we got our first 3 chicks in April 2023
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

(3) What breeds do you have?
a lavender orpington (Penelope), a black Australorp (Charizard) and a blue sexlink (Jesse)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
so far we love watching them grow
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to do crafts- crochet, embroidery, art projects and gardening with my kids. We've spent the last 3 weekends working on building a run!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are in Southern California and have 2 dogs
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? This site has been an excellent resource so far and I've been reading posts and replies for weeks! So thankful there's a place like this- joined the FB group too. So excited to learn more as they grow!!
