Ok so i have had them now for 8 weeks and they are finally starting to grow. but they look weird anyone have pics that i could compare them to. This is my first time having meaties and I had no idea how bad they look. They look like they have growths on the breasts and they have no feathers on them there and there butts are bald. Is it normal and if not what should I do. I wanted to know what I was going to eat and know what they are eating now I not sure anymore. please help thanks

I don't have any pics from my cornish x chicks, but it sounds normal to me. They are UGLY little beasties. They will have lots of bare patches. The only thing that I am not sure of is the growths on the breasts... Maybe they are blisters from laying around?

BRF's look really good, mine looked more like you are describing which is totally normal they are just as menagerie said "ugly little beasties" but wait until you cook one! and trust that the ones you buy in the store look FAR worse.

I think no doubt a free range chicken is the happiest. Takes alittle longer in growth I think but worth the wait. And eating all the bugs in the yard is a plus
