So my duck has started sitting on eggs at night. I am wondering if theres anything i should know or any tips? I will have food and water for them when they hatch at all times. A water dish not deep enough to drown in and that they can get out of.. Most of the information I'm finding is if i raise them in a brooder. But i would like to see mama raise them. But i also don't want to learn anything the hard way. Any information or tips from your experience would be greatly appreciated! I have 3 other female ducks in the house. I have chickens. In their own coop but everyone is free range.no roosters no drakes. I was told she would start sitting on them at night and then eventually all day. Tonight she is sitting on infertile eggs. I was told i could switch them for the fertile eggs tomorrow when shes off the nest.

Hello! In the wild about a couple hours after most of a mother’s ducklings have hatched, she will bring them to water and swim with them. I doubt they will drown but if you are nervous about it just keep an eye on them when they hatch
