It's day 21 and my eggs are beginning to hatch. 4 out of 22 eggs in a Nurture Right 360 incubator so far. As these chicks hatch there is less room for them to move around. Should I open the incubator and remove the old shells to create more room?

Also, when should I move the baby chicks to a brooder box?

Thanks if you can help.

You can leave the chicks there until they dry out for at least a couple hours make sure to put them under a heat lamp after you take them out. You can open it to take the chicks out because the humidity will already be high from all the moisture from the chicks hatching. Of course don’t be opening it too much, but don’t be scared to take the chicks out! Congrats on your chicks!!!

If you open the incubator to take shells out, you might as well take the chicks out and put them in the brooder.
My babies love to get out and into the brooder.
