First timer getting chicks tomorrow! Need last minute help!

@blackdog043 I Want to say I'm looking to get chickens for egg production as i'm raising them on the farm theres gonna be... let me count my fingers... now my toes... 13 egg eaters on the property so I wanna eventually be able to get that going... I know 8 chickens wont lay enough eggs for 13 people to eat every day, so at first its really gonna be just for my household so i'm starting small to see how it goes. The feed store had golden sex links? i think theyre called a rhode island hybrid, the gent said they were very good for egg laying but when I got home and did some looking up on them I found that they can get egg bound... does anyone have any info on this? they look beautiful with their yellow color and while I'm not opposed to butchering a chicken for meat down the line I would hate to see one of my birds get into serious pain knowing it would happen to them, does that make sense? ;3

I second the Easter eggers. I have two (plus a chick). They lay almost everyday. I get a huge green egg from one and a huge blue egg from the other. Beautiful!!
