I’m trying to branch out and start shipping eggs. My mom said she would be my test client.

How do I do this?

Walk me through like I’m a kindergartener.

The best shipped eggs I recieved were in egg cartons inside a priority flat rate box. There was some cushioning around each egg then around the cartons inside the box. Use Jumbo cartons if you have them, that way you have more room for separation and cushioning.
One seller used some dampened wood shavings to add a little moisture for the eggs in the shipment.
The worst eggs I recieved were wrapped in bubble wrap and placed loosely in a box. I recieved half the eggs broken and the other half covered in egg goo! A total loss. No money back and in this case there should have been a refund. Stupid way to do it!
Egg companies has been shipping eggs since the beginning of shipping eggs and have a good basic idea. Start there.
Flat rate priority will give you a basic shipping cost for all your buyers.
Pack in 4 or 5 extra eggs just in case of misshap and viability issues.
Ship on a monday to avoid your shipment from sitting over the weekend in some hot warehouse.
That's all I can think of for the moment.

Dont wash or refrigerate hatching eggs.
While you are saving them, keep them pointy end down and in a room around 50-55 degrees.
Tilt eggs from side to side once a day.
Dont ship out older than 6 day old eggs. The fresher the better.
Only ship out normal size eggs. No double rollers or misshapen ones.
Dont sell any thin shelled ones.
Question: are you sure of fertility of your flock?
Have you hatched any for yourself and know rate of hatch?

I’m incubating my first batch.

I had 4 unfertilised or that didn’t develop. The rest are developing.

I’m not sure the hatching rate and I wouldn’t even be sure I could use this one as an example because there was so much chaos with it.

1. Used the wrong egg tray
2. Installed the tray upside down
3. Moved to a new incubator
4. My toddler thought it was a box and shook it and tipped it and caused one to break.

But, this is definitely test run (my mom isn’t paying anyway) but it would be cool to see what her hatch rate is

I’ve been keeping eggs at room temp like 68-70
