(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My family and I are very new to chickens! My 7 yr old son came home with a baby chick 2 days ago. He's had the chick all weekend at his dads house so he's already attached. My son has named the chick Galaxy because he's dark like the galaxy. We know absolutely nothing about how to raise a chick. I have been googling like crazy on how to care for it.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We just have this one.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We're not sure of the breed but from the pictures I've seen online im guessing it might be a Barred Rock. Maybe someone can help me with that. I don't know if it's male or female.

After searching online for information I came across BYC, and found a lot of the information helpful!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My kids and I like to play all types of board games and lots of sports!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have an 11 yr old daughter who loves to read all day and a very energetic 7 yr old boy who stays active by getting into everything!! We currently do not have any other pets.
