Decided to give it a go. Set 100 jumbo browns in a Genesis 1588 with the autoturner for quail. Some of the eggs were a tight fit and the racks bump them a bit when they turn. Anybody have that problem? Should I be concerned? I don't think it will break them. It's just a nudge.

I will report back in about 17-18 days. Wish me luck

Well, I was going to wait until day 7 to candle, but I was too eager and candled today at day 4. I am pleased to report that of the 10 I candled, only one was clear. The rest all had veins. Statistically, I could have 90 percent with veins at this stage. I don't know what the margin of error is on that, but a sample of 10% of a finite population should result in a pretty small margin of error with a high confidence level....if I remember from my college statistics days. I am sure it is possible, and probably likely, that I will have some losses from here, but I am very optimistic on day 4. Further reports to follow.
