if you have lots more in there pipped, stay out! that humidity is really important to your yet-to-hatch chicks.Woke up to 2 damp chicks this morning!! Lots more are pipped.
How long can I leave them in the bator before moving them to the brooder coop?
You can actually leave them for up to 72hrs from what I've read. They may start to get wobbly at that point, but should be alright. Humidity is sooooo important to your un-hatched and pipped eggs, so don't be in a hurry to get chicks out and risk the rest. Our first hatched yesterday, and I don't plan on opening my incubator until Saturday afternoon to float test any that haven't hatched yet. I set my eggs on the 13th, so I'm also a bit ahead of some of you. Most places I've read say 24 hours before going to the brooder - my plan is to leave all of them in there until the whole batch hatches so I don't cause humidity problems.
By the way, for those who are concerned because they're not seeing anything yet - I started my eggs on the evening of Sept 14th - a bit earlier than most folks on this thread.
I'm with ya here. Mine are due Sunday and nothing, not pips, peeps, or wiggling. Will just have to wait and see. Not very optimisticI HEAR NOTHING! No eggs moving, no pips, no peeps! We are due Saturday also but you all are getting pips and peeps! Oh...here I go again... Stressing from comparing! My eggs developed nicely and seemed on target. I have to go hover again. Will update when ANYTHING happens! As of yet.... I have no bragging rights:/
