First Timer: UPDATE: 12 Days After Hatch: Roos to Hens?

Yeah for you and the little chickies! I LOVE hatching eggs, brooding chicks....well not so much, but it's just amazing to watch them hatch.

No, just one chick so far, but three other pips, one of which is now almost all zipped. So, one very, very wobbly chick, one egg almost all zipped and somebody inside kicking at the slowly tearing membrane, one pip with what looks like the tip of a beak poking out and moving and one pip with no activity since it pipped.

TWO chicks out! One more still working on zipping, so far just enlarged the pip. No further activity in the fourth pipped egg. No activity at all in 3 eggs.

The humidity sky-rocketed, so I lifted the lid to remove the two empty egg shells and let some moisture out.

Little cheepers are looking okay, although there is a spot of blood on the paper towel from one of them.... but both are active in spurts.

It sounds like the beginings of a pretty good hatch and a very long night for you.

I'll look forward to reading about the final tally tomorrow---oops, I mean later today. Don't forget the pictures!!

First picture, kinda crappy due to flash and condensation on the inside of the incubator.

This is a view of the eggshell out of which the first chick hatched.

Oh my gosh that is amazing!! Good job! Keeping my fingers crossed for happy healthy chicks! I am so glad they are hatching, that must be really cool to witness!
