First Timer

We have a broody Brahma hen and selected eggs for her to hatch. We marked them with sharpie to keep track. She is definitely committed. What do I need to know to keep Mama hen healthy? Tips, tricks and words of wisdom would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Keep other hens from disturbing her, and she will do the rest. Good luck for a successful hatch.

Also give her enough space to get off the nest, eat drink and poop.
If she lets you, I would also check for mice and lice as broody hens are the perfect environment for this parasites. Mine got lice half way through, and I'm glad I caught it early.

I have a theory that bringing momma her favorite snacks occasionally and a sip of water while she's sitting will make her trust you with her chicks later on... but don't take my word for it! lol
