Beautiful coop and run! Your ladies have it nice there! Have you thought of solar motion lights to keep the riffraff back? Your place looks similar to ours, right smack dab next to a forest.

Have not thought of that yet, may look into it. My coop is actually in the middle of the woods, with just enough of an opening in the tree canopy to get almost a full days worth of sun. We have a few natural springs, so I'm going to do some experimenting with different designs of flowing water trough's throughout the winter to see if we can keep water from freezing without electricity. If I have any good results, I'll add some write-ups here.

New to chickens. Coop is built, run is built, preditor proofed (I hope). Still have a long list of projects left, but enjoying every minute of it.

Have 8 Chickens
3 Gold Laced Wyandottes and 5 Sapphire Gems

We are transitioning to be more self sufficient, and chickens are a big part of those plans.

We like to can, ferment, all things DIY, camp, fish, hunt, and many other things.

Family of 5 with a couple dogs, birds, reptiles, fish, and anything else the kids bring home.

Kept seeing BYC on FB and Google searches. I don't join many sites, but after months of seeing the recommendations to come to this site, I finally broke down, and here I am.

Looking forward to learning lots here.
