Any suggestions on what supplies I should get before my chicks come- I am getting 8 chicks, 4 of which are bantam.

Also I am increasing the size of my coop to 8' by 8'- with a roof that goes from 5'-8' high. I am also going to have an 8x6 run and they will be able to free range on weekends. I would like to get 2 or 3 more-

Will that be too many?

Do you think it is too many for a first timer?

Any advice will be appreciated.

I would say the coop is good for the eight. That would be a good start. I would post your supply question in the "Raising Baby Chicks" section. They will be most helpful.

from Michigan. Glad you found us. There is tons of info on here.

That is not to many for a first timer. My first order of chicks was 30 and within a couple months we had 67. They did get a little over whelming when the kids were playing baseball and softball 4 nights a week but we love our birds and kids.
