First timer!

Hi y'all! My name is Ashley and I live in NC. My husband and I just bought our first set of chicks (week old) and rooster (3 1/2 months old). I'm really excited and anxious to start my little chicken farm

It will be a problem that the rooster is that much older than your other chicks. He will be feeling his hormones while they are still too young and will harm them or worse by attempting to breed them. If you can separate them from the rooster until they are laying/breeding age (pullets I hope) it should work out a lot better.

Thanks y'all! Yes, they are currently separated I'm going to get a couple hens sometime in July that will be closer to the age of the Rooster...any advice?
