We are new to raising chickens. Started in March with Partridge Plymouth rock chicks, then bought an assortment from Mt. Healthy hatchery in April. Just bought a few two year olds this weekend and our total is now 14. we have 4 Copper Marans, 2 Barnevelders, then one each of the following: Silver and Gold laced Wyandotte, Buff Orpington, Aruacana, Partridge Plymouth Rock, Speckled Sussex, New Hampshire Red, and Barred Plymouth Rock. They look like a rainbow running around their 20 x 20 pen.
Our 2 and 4 year old girls go out every morning to check for eggs and to toss in a couple cherry tomatoes into the pen to watch a little chicken football.
I found this site this past winter while researching coop and chicken tractor designs. Learned a ton about the different breeds and I think the reviews are priceless. Looking forward to being a productive part of this online community.
