I lost a chick last week too, and was worried for the remaining three. They are fine and just moved in to their "big chicken" coop. Have three more chicks on the way- I hope they all do well! Welcome, I am a newbie too!

Welcome!, I am new to BYC as well. From Alaska, but now living in Maryland. Growing up in Alaska, I raised 80 Rhode Island Reds and Barred Rocks on our family farm. They all did really well, very hardy.
