Hi!

We've talked about it for a few years but this is our first time with chickens! They just arrived yesterday- 3 Dominiques, 1 Buff Orp, 1 GL Wyandotte, and 1 silver Cuckoo Maran. We're in love already!

We are brooding them in a covered packnplay with the mama heating pad gleaned from the forums and when the time comes they will be relocated to a old coop turned shed (not by us) being rehabbed back into a coop that we have on our property.

Very excited first time chicken parents, oh yeah we have 2 human kids too

Congrats on the new chicks! Sounds like you picked some pretty breeds too!!

Make yourself at home here and if you have any questions about your new babies, feel free to ask around the forums.

Enjoy your new chicks and welcome to our flock!

Welcome and congrats on you new baby chicks.

They are difficult to photograph. If you have red heat lamp, turn it off and use regular light for photo opportunities. Use a digital camera and pick a spot and keep taking pics and maybe someone will stay still long enough to be in a pic..

They will be easier to photo as they get older, some will pose for you - I love those in your face photos- and others will be very camera shy. But do try to get photos, you will be amazed at how fast they grow and how much fun you will have revisiting the baby albums.
