Okay so it's a sunny afternoon and the chickens are kicking around things in the coop and outside so I wandered in to check on somethings and I noticed two of my girls pecking at a ball on the ground infront of their nesting boxes. I walk closer and see a tiny brown egg. I of course squeel with delight and then proceed to show everyone in our house our first little egg.

I then took a picture of it next to a store bought one for size value

Now I don't know if I should put it in a nesting box so they keep laying them in there or if I should just take them out everyday like someone who has had chickens for years would do?

Answers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

I would just put a fake egg or golf ball in the nesting box if you are trying to get them to lay in there. Otherwise the only reason to leave the eggs is if you think they will go broody and hatch them out. But if you don't have a roo it won't be fertile anyway.
