Well, it's a week ago that I got my first hens...two adult Australorps and three Easter Egger pullets.
They've settled into a daily routine and a well-established pecking order, and the Australorps have to date delivered 10 eggs. I expect the EEs to start laying in a month or so - they are just finishing a molt, and finally look more like adults than they did even when I got them a week ago.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news!
