Yes and no to the swimming. You're right about the oil issue, however, I dry them off with a towel when I take them out. The mom usually gives them oil, but they also start to develop their own oils. After they get wet and start to dry off, they will "groom" their chest, with this motion they are stimulating their oil glands. I don't let the water get too deep bc they can't float bc they don't have enough oil right now. I only let it get about chest high on them. Trust me, it is SO worth watching them play in the water.
