how do i tell if an angelfish is a boy or a girl?

It's often very Hard but if your angelfish are mature they will exhibit a nuchal hump on the forehead if they are males, and a straight head if they are females, but this again is only if they are mature.

well i got mine at a local walmart and they are around the size of a nickle- their bodies.

so how long will they take to mature?

if i sent you pics. could you tell if they are male or female?

If they are only the size of a Nickle they are not yet mature, It's a rough estimation but 6-8month's is when they are mature fish, There will be no trouble if they are of the same sex, They are peaceful in temperament ,and you can trade them for mate's when you find out their sexes. What I mean by a nuchal hump is you will notice that the head is rounded, and the females will have a straight head.

well do you have any idea how old they are now?
