Fishing nets/Avian netting?

I am considering building are larger run for my birds. I have been looking around and I noticed some folks using recycled commercial fishing nets or Avian netting to cover their runs. Have any of you tried this, or know someone who has? How as it worked out for you, how cost efficient is it compared to chicken wife/hardware mesh? Just looking for some feedback I guess.

I used deep sea netting over my pen for my Snowy Mallard ducks and it worked great. I brought it off ebay for a good price and it has lasted a long time.

Is it pretty sturdy? I mean do you think its strong enough to keep out predators?

To keep out coons and such, no. It will protect them from owls and hawks.
