Fishmeal

Hi All, I just bought fishmeal, but it is so finely ground that I don't know how to use it. We pasture our chickens and just throw a few handfuls of pellets on the ground in the morning. If I throw this fishmeal on the ground, it will disappear into the dirt! Any suggestions? I am a new chicken owner, so there is probably nothing too basic for me! Thanks!

I suggest that you put in IN something, a tray, small feeder etc...

I make my own feed at the feed mill, and fish meal is a protein source I use. I have them put in 5% molasses to moisten the mix and tie up the finer ingredients, like fish meal and the nutrient pack, diatomaceous earth, etc. Molasses also provides vitamin B and other important nutrients, and is a very complex carb, so it's helpful.
