Did you ever believe you'd be cooking breakfast for chickens? Mine devour oatmeal as well. Today I cooked and served them scrambled eggs. If someone told me a year ago I'd be cooking warm meals for chickens I'd have told them they were way off their rocker LOL

i cook for mine too sometimes, while my corn bread is cooking i cook a xtra pan with all my scraps and crushed eggshells thrown in then i pour warm sour milk on it...the dogs like it too....yum....

I've trained my husband now so that he asks first before he takes food out of the refrigerator "hey, honey? Can I eat this, or is it for the chickens?"

Hee.

I'm new to all of this too. . .

I thought it was bad when I was grocery shopping and selecting the reduced produce for my little girls & boys

I haven't made them a warm breakfast yet, I'm sure that will be next

I cook oatmeal every morning and serve it to the girls with plain yogurt.
Sometimes I sprinkle raisins (Chicken Crack) on top.
In Summer I let it cool first, but now they're getting it hot from the microwave.
They roost near the door to the coop and the ones nearest start eating from the bowl as soon as I open the door.

I totally agree!

I havn't cooked for my birds but I think I spent a while cutting grapes in half, when I had rocks and a couple mixed bantys 2 or 3 weeks old in the brooder, then the little $#*!$ wouldn't even try them.
lol o well just picky babies I guess, my 2yo daughter is that way at every meal, that was my favorite flock.
