Beekissed...I think you made a fairly reasoned, non-hysterical arguement and I agree with the part that the decision was based on political correctness and he did it because he felt he had to and because he could. I may also agree with you that it may be best to solidify the rules regarding flying the flag at half staff in order to avoid these kinds of National arguments in the future. Regarding the rest of your argument I will give you a quote from Albert Einstein whom you seem to like. He said "Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind." I will also tell you that when he died he was a resident of New Jersey living at Princeton University, and the flags were not flown at half staff.
