Have been trying to find amt of lumens best for candling. Zip. Zippo. No info on how many Brinsea has. It seems like if there's a warning that 1000 lumens can blind you, it may not be a good idea to aim it in an embryo's face. Plus, I was under the impression that all leds were cool burning. Wrong. So- I learned nothing, and whatever I have lets me see movement, veins and as I experienced today for 1st time, bloodrings. I just wanted more, more, more!!!
Anyway, I did come across something that might help those of you wading through the weeds looking for nests.
"I first discovered this by wandering around in the woods with a UV light to see what glowed, and saw a red glow under a cove of brush. I now use this method when examining a found nest of guinea eggs to gather the freshest for incubation while leaving the older eggs to encourage the hens to keep laying in the same spot. Brown eggs tend to fluoresce as well but not as brightly."
