Flea?

I was wondering to chickens get fleas? I have had lice in the past and i know what they look like. It is a small black jumping thing that looks like a flea but when I squeeze them they do not pop like a flea would. Also they do bite.

Thankyou for any help........ I know that 1 chicken has it on her... and I did dust her to kill them..

Sounds like a flea to me. Typically fleas are so small when you try to squeese them between your fingers to kill them they don't die.
