Fleas! ICK ICK ICK!

I would use DE in the cracks and crevices . Just don't overdo it inside. I put a trail of it around my window sill for ants and dust my dog beds with it, as long as it's a light dusting it won't hurt your vacuum, its just some people pour it on and then expect to vacuum it up. I just barely sprinkle it and rub it in to my rugs lightly. Also I lightly sprinkle some on my dogs and rub it in to their fur... again lightly. I do it outside any excess goes in the grass.

I've always used Lemon Joy... not Dawn for killing fleas when I got rescue's. It works good on fleas. Not sure if dawn has same ingredients.

good luck!

I would also start putting a small amount of apple cider vinegar in their drinking water daily, it acts as a flea repellent. I also spray down our horse with a diluted mixture of water and AC vinegar, as well as making his coat gleam it repels flies.

I also hate fleas! ........ I wash the dog with flea shampoo even if she does not have them, I do a final rinse with water and A C Vinegar ........

I don't use flea collers on the cats but a product called "Tablets4 Fleas" one tablet at the first sign of fleas, it starts to work in 15 minutes and all fleas dead in 24 hours. I follow it up a few days later and then again a week later. it is expensive here in the UK, but it does work. They are manufactured by Johnson & Johnson.

I have never used Frontline, it is was way to expensive here, for a small dog (Yorkie) the cost of a small box is £22.94 (about 45$)

So, here in San Diego County, fleas never get killed off. At one time our backyard was impossible due to the huge number of fleas that attached themselves to you when you went back there. Repeated sprayings barely made a dent.

Along came Advantage. One application on the dog rid us, the house and the yard of fleas. We use it once or twice a year now, and the fleas are not a problem.

For a bit we went with the vet's recomendation of frontline for fleas, ticks and heartworm. We still had fleas. So back to Advantage and we were back to a flea free environment.

So just my take on it....

Jenna, Why the yellow Dawn soap? I never knew that..i use the regular blue one... Also, i'm the same here..FLEA NAZI! If i see 1..i go nuts! all i can tell you is Borax on your carpet/furniture and advantage or revolution for the meds..plus..before i give them the meds i wash them with Dawn dish soap. BUt now i'm wondering if i've been using the wrong color soap? So, i should use yellow instead of the blue? THanks for any help, Wendy
