FLEAS! Need help....

I bought some chickens from the 4H auction at the county fair a few months back and well the little stinkers have fleas, and the have given them to my other birds and my dog. The problem is I can't get rid of them, the fleas.... Please any suggestions would be helpful. I do have a toddler and a new born so I am trying to avoid toxic chemicals. Thank you.

Are you sure they are fleas and not mites?
