fleas?

How do you know if your chickens have fleas/lice?
My chickens have been pecking at there own wings, chest area and legs....Are they just grooming themselves?

Most pests, you will be able to see if you pick up the hen, and look under her wing area. Look closely...to see if there are any creepy crawlies down on the skin. More than likely, they are just preening. Do they have a place to dust bathe?? Sand...ash???Something?

Yes, they have 2 places, the little sand box I made them and the hole in the ground they made themsleves. I also put DE in with their bedding.

Well, with the DE. I would have to say they are just preening. Not likely there are pests. Wouldn't hurt to look anyways.
