Flemish Giant Rabbits

I love my Flemish Giant! But they do take a special since they get huge!

I wouldnt ever consider confining them to a cage. I originally got my girl to show and breed and had a buck as well. I bought them the biggest cages I could which were much bigger than anything suggested and I still ended up not feeling like I was providing her with the proper enviornment. She is now in her own pen which is about 20"x20" and is so happy, she has a dog house for shelter and shade and she runs around digs and comes when I call her. She is just a big sweet girl!

They eat a lot too, around 2 cups of pellets a day and you want to make sure they get a nice high quality pellet which a pet store probably wont have.

Other than that just make sure to socialize them when they are young so that you have a nice sweet bunny. There is nothing like an unsocialized skittish rabbit that is afraid of people at 20 lbs!

here is my Izzy! She is about 16lbs and my baby!

I am planning on getting a baby. They will be ready to go around the 1st of Aug. I will raise it in the house until it can safely play outside. I have a 1/2 acre fenced in. I need to remove some plants that I found out are poisonous. So I will be getting a fawn 6 wk. old.
I am very excited about this baby. Everything I read about them just fuels this fire.

Izzy is gorgeous!
